Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Ranimons Ltd Ballachrink Grove Mount Ramsey IM8 3HP IM8 3HP
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs A Sanders Proposal: Erection of an agricultural workers dwelling at: Western Corner Of Field 320330 Ballalough Farm West Baldwin Isle Of Man
which was considered on 20 July 2006, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 27 July, 2006 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas Secretary Planning Committee (Signature)
Reasons For Refusal:
- By reason of its siting, away from the existing farm group, the proposed dwelling would
(a) be contrary to the Department’s policy as set out in paragraph 3 of Planning Circular 3/89; and (b) appear as an isolated new dwelling in the countryside. The proposed development would therefore be detrimental to the appearance of the countryside and contrary to the Department’s general policy of protecting the countryside from inappropriate development.
- The design of the building does not accord with the policies of Planning Circular 3/91 and, as such, the proposed development would be out of keeping with and detrimental to the appearance of an area of high landscape value and scenic significance.
This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
