8 November 2005 · Delegated
Ht Dental Solutions Ltd, 92, Bucks Road, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 3ag
The property at 92 Bucks Road is an end-of-terrace building on a corner plot, previously used as a barbers shop with a residential flat above. The works proposed were entirely internal and external improvements with no change of use: refurbishment of the shop front, demolition of a rear annex, installation of external steel access stairs, conversion of an existing rear window into a doorway, removal of a Perspex yard cover, and construction of a block and render wall with a new entrance at the rear. The officer noted the existing property was considered an eyesore in the street scene, and the proposals were seen as an improvement. The application was approved by delegated decision with two conditions.
The works were limited to improvements to the existing building with no change of use proposed. The officer was satisfied the proposals would improve the appearance of a property already identified as an eyesore, and permission was granted subject to two conditions.
