Officer's Report
The site represents the footprint of a proposed building. The site defined in blue represents the land associated with part of Ballahais Farm which is now in three different ownerships. Recently planning permission was granted, partly retrospectively for a menage area to the right of the entrance drive off the Ballanass Road (04/2007 - on appeal).
Now proposed is an extension to an existing stable block which lies to the south east of the house and other outbuildings. Other applications on this site include:
- 91/0849 - change of use of store/workshop to motor vehicle repairs - permitted
- 95/1490 - erection of four hose stables - permitted (this latest application proposes an extension of this)
- 02/0885 - conversion of workshop to dwelling - refused
02/2388 - conversion of stone building to dwelling - permitted 03/1499 - conversion to dwelling - permitted
The plans are not professionally prepared but are clear and accurate and accord with the dimensions of the stables approved under PA 95/1490. I see no adverse impact as a result of this minor extension of one additional stable.
