In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs Myers Proposal: Installation of dormer window to front elevation (Resubmission) (in association with 05/00386/CON) at: Harbour House 7 The Quay Castletown IM9 1LD
which was considered on 7 October 2005, for the reasons set out below.

Reasons For Refusal:
- Whilst the proposed dormer is more modest and less intrusive than that proposed and refused under PA 04/1431, it still represents the introduction of a feature which is not a characteristic either of the property as it presently exists, nor how it ever appeared. As such the proposal makes a significant alterations to the appearance of a Registered Building and fails to either preserve or enhance a property within an adopted Conservation Area contrary to policies RB/5 and CA/4 of Planning Policy Statement 1/01 - Conservation of the Historic Environment.
- This review has been considered by the Planning Committee on written evidence. Any additional submissions not previously circulated to interested parties are enclosed herewith.

- the time for requesting an appeal in relation to any decision at review has expired; or
- any appeal has been completed.
Note 2: Rights of appeal against the decision of the planning committee are attached.
Note 3: An appeal may be requested within a period of 21 days.
