Officer's Report
The application seeks approval for the additional use of a dwelling in Laxey as self-catering tourist accommodation.
There are no objections to the proposed use and in light of previous planning appeal decisions in respect of tourist use within residential areas I consider the proposal to be acceptable. On the basis that the residential letting of the property could be unrestricted I do not see any good reason to condition the level of tourist use. Accordingly, I recommend that the application be approved.

C 1. The use must be taken up within four years of the date of this notice in order for this approval to remain valid after that time.
C 2. This approval relates to drawing no.s A, B and C date stamped the 19th January 2005.
N 3. The applicant is recommended to consult with the Fire Safety Officer with regard to the means of escape from the upper floor.
N 4. The applicant is advised to consider the comments of the Disability Access Office.
N 5. For a change in the water supply to a premises (domestic or commercial) the applicant should contact the Isle of Man Water Authority Byelaws Inspector (Les Quayle), telephone 695957.
