Officer's Report
The application seeks approval for the erection of two timber buildings in the countryside in Ballaugh. One building forms a four-bay stable block and the other a building for chickens and general storage.
I consider that the buildings, which could only be accommodated in a rural context, are relatively modest in scale and form. I believe that their impact on the countryside would be quite limited and that the proposed development is therefore acceptable. Ballaugh Parish Commissioners have no objection
to the proposed development but request that a condition prohibiting any future conversion into living accommodation be attached to any approval. It is legitimate to attach any such condition.
I recommend that the application be approved.
