29 April 2005 · Committee
Kinley Legal, 4, Albert Street, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 2qa
This application sought permission to convert the ground floor of a mid-terraced house at 4 Albert Street, Douglas into office accommodation, while retaining residential use elsewhere in the building. The Planning Committee approved the application. The officer report noted that the proposed mix of uses was in line with the Local Plan, and that there was space at the rear for three cars. A practical constraint was also identified: the internal layout only functions if the office and residential parts of the building are occupied by the same people, since the kitchen is located on the ground floor. Permission was granted with three conditions attached to the decision.
The Planning Committee approved the application on 29 April 2005. The mix of office and residential uses was considered acceptable under the Local Plan, parking for three cars was available at the rear, and the internal layout was noted to work on the basis that the office and residential space would be occupied by the same people, given the kitchen is on the ground floor.
