This application sought outline planning permission for three dwellings on open land between Cliffe Cottage and Greystones on Battery Road, Peel. The site sits within a predominantly residential zone under the Peel Local Plan 1989, but is open and uneven, with a former quarry with steeply sloping banks immediately to the north-east. The committee refused the application on 23 March 2005. The officer report raised concerns about the suitability of access via Battery Lane, where visibility was considered difficult. There were also concerns about the impact of development on wildlife in the vicinity of the former quarry, harm to the neighbouring Cliff Cottage, and the effect on views of the headland as seen from across the bay.
