Officer's Report
The site represents the curtilage of the Manx Aviation Museum, accommodated in an existing Nissen hut to the seaward side of the Douglas Road between the airport roundabout and the entrance to King William's College.
Recently, a new Nissen hut was approved (PA 00/2100) on review.
Now proposed is the erection of a new Nissen hut and links between the two Nissen huts. The links will be glazed in a timber frame and are in two parts - one at each end of each building.
I doubt that these links will have an advsere impact on the appearance of the building. I doubt also that the scheme will have any adverse impact on the Airport Safety Zone bearing in mind that the buildings are already in place and only recently approved. I will however check with Burroughs Stewart in this respect
I have spoken with Piers Burroughs who confirms that there is no objection in terms of airport safety or prejudice to the extension proposed to the runway.
