Officer's Report
This application relates to a large detached house located at right angles to Queens Road, Port St. Mary. It fronts a courtyard which is shared with another detached property located at right angles to this house.
The application is for a glass front porch with a slate roof and low stonework wall.
The other property in the courtyard has a similar shaped porch which is open rather than enclosed, and narrower in shape. The design of the porch is in keeping with the rest of the building and the neighbouring property. There are some ground floor windows in the neighbouring property which are relatively close to the proposed porch but the neighbours have indicated that they have no objection to the porch and feel there is no adverse impact. They have written 'if anything it will enhance the courtyard.'
The proposed porch is of a reasonable design and will have not have an unacceptable impact on the amenities of neighbouring properties.
