I judge that these proposals are acceptable, responding to the building and its use in sympathetic siting and style, but refer to Conservation Officer. Signed Date 20/9/04. Summary of objections/views HA and LA - no objections Recommendations Approve/Refuse See Steve's report. Split decision accordingly. Signed Date 23/9 Planning Report and Recommendations General Report Site Visited โ YES โ NO The Queen's Hotel is a Registered Building (201) as well as being located within the Promenade Conservation Area. The proposed is the addition of lighting and signage to the front of the public house. Whilst all of the proposed is of a quality we welcome, the addition of the lantern over the front entrance is a little 'over the top'. There is an existing 'coach lamp' in place (although it is difficult to ascertain its age) If the applicant were able to provide documentary evidence to substantiate the installation of this lamp, then we could consider it.
