Planning Report and Recommendations General Report Site Visited YES/NO No. 9 a Hidesley Road is within the Selbourne Brive section of the Upper Douglas Conservative Area. Currently the property retains brown basement windows (which are always neither original or historical) correct. In this sense, removal of these windows and their replacement with DVC shavings such is, without doubt, an welcome enhancement. With regard to the replacement of the front door, it is difficult to ascertain from the photograph but it certainly appears to be painted timber. Our preference would be toward the retention of original fabric and replacement when necessary with an item identical in terms of pattern, finish and materials - we may be able to offer Grant assistance for this. The site comprises the curtilage of a mid-terraced house (No. 9) on the south side of Hildesley Road. 2. Within the Selbourne Drive Conservation Area. 3. The application proposes the installation of (a) replacement windows at the front - PVC-frained sliding sashes; and (b) replacement front door - PVC. 4. We usually approve such windows if they have a single central transom, but refuse PVC doors. 5. Refer to S.
