14 September 2004 · Delegated
Mill House, Mill Road, Peel, Isle Of Man, IM5 1tb
The proposal was to erect a portacabin measuring 7.3 metres long, 2.7 metres wide, and 2.4 metres high, sited between the existing office and the MEA tanks at the Total Isle of Man Ltd premises off Mill Road, Peel. Although no details of the cabin's external appearance were submitted, the officer judged it acceptable on the basis of its position within the site and its modest dimensions. The application was approved under delegated authority, subject to three conditions.
The portacabin was considered acceptable because of its contained position between existing structures and its relatively small scale. Despite the absence of appearance details, the officer was satisfied that the location and dimensions meant it would not cause harm. Permission was granted with three conditions attached.
Condition 1
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Condition 2
This approval relates to erection of a portacabin on the site as indicated on the location plan submitted on the 30th July 2004.
Condition 3
The portacabin must be used as office accommodation only.
