Dear Sir/Madam,
ON APPEAL: 02/1929 – Clucas PLC – Erection of unit for the storage, display and sale of furniture with associated design, administration and car-parking, Unit 18, Tromode Industrial Estate, Carrs Road, Tromode, Onchan
I refer to the recent appeal hearing in respect of the above planning application.
In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 7(5) of Schedule 1 to the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982, I am enclosing herewith a copy of the report of the person appointed to hear this appeal.
I am directed to advise you that the Minister, having considered the report, has agreed to accept the recommendation of the appointed person. Accordingly, she has directed that the appeal be dismissed and that the decision of the Planning Committee to approve the application be confirmed subject to additional conditions. Formal notice of approval is attached to this letter.

In pursuance of her powers under the above Acts and Order the MINISTER for Local Government and the Environment, following report by the appointed person, does hereby APPROVE the application by Clucas PLC – Erection of unit for the storage, display and sale of furniture with associated design, administration and car-parking, Unit 18, Tromode Industrial Estate, Carrs Road, Tromode, Onchan, subject to compliance with the conditions or modifications specified on the attached schedule and numbered 1 to 4 inclusive.

Note 1: This permission refers only to that required under the Town and Country Planning Acts and does not include any consent or approval under any other enactment, byelaw, order or regulation.
Note 2: A copy of the report of the appointed person is appended hereto.
PA02/1929 – ON APPEAL Ref: YAM/MC
- This approval relates to the erection of the building shown in drawings 55/26/3, 55/26/2A, 55/26/4 and 55/26/5, all received on the 24th December, 2002.
- The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
- Units B, C and D shown on the submitted Plan No. 55/26/3 may be used for the display, storage and sale of large items of furniture – chairs, beds, tables, sofas, cabinets, cupboards, together with facilities for the design of interior layouts to be created and the administration of the operation.
- Unit A shown on the submitted plan shall only be used for industrial purposes and not for any form of retail activity.
NOTE: PRIOR to the commencement of any works the applicant is advised to consult the Chief Fire Officer to ensure that adequate fire precautions are taken.
NOTE: The applicant is advised to consult the Water Authority with regard to the Water Supply Byelaws.
