44, Demesne Road, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 3dy
The application related to part of an end-terraced house on Demesne Road, next to Ballacloan School, and proposed converting a holiday flat within the building to permanent residential use. The submitted drawings failed to identify clearly which part of the building was subject to the change of use, or what the use and layout of the rest of the building would be. The officer wrote to the applicant on 26 July requesting further information, but received no response. In the absence of any on-site parking provision, the officer also noted that the change of use would increase pressure on on-street parking in an area already short of spaces. The Department of Transport objected to the proposal.
The application was refused because the submitted drawings did not clearly show which part of the building was changing use or how the rest of the building would be used, the applicant did not respond to a request for further information, the Department of Transport objected, and the development would have added to on-street parking pressure in an area where parking is already limited.
