CON Consultation 1.1 Arbory and Rushen Commissioners

At their meeting last week the Commissioners agreed the following comments.
- 1. a) 21/00575/B Balladoole House Balladoole Castletown. Erection of single and two storey extensions and linked garage accommodation together with associated landscape.
- b) 21/00466/B Balladoole House. Amended Plans.
- c) 21/00479/B Balladoole House. Amended Plans.
- d) 21/00575/B Balladoole House. Amended Plans.
In relation to applications a) to d) above, the Commissioners were very concerned about loss of mature trees and felt that the proposal represented an excessive development of this historically important building. The Commissioners were further concerned about potential damage to the Poyll Vaaish from building works vehicles. The Commissioners would expect that any such damage be repaired by the developer. The Commissioners further felt that with the increased traffic on the Poyll Vaaish Road resulting from the works would warrant the introduction of a traffic management plan for the construction related vehicles.
- 2. e) 20/01390/B Land Adjacent to Arbory Vicarage. Amended Plans.
The Commissioners remain opposed to this development for the reasons already submitted. The Commissioners concerns over this development are exacerbated by the amended plans and find that the loss of healthy mature trees proposed by this plan is wholly unacceptable.
- 3. The Commissioners supported the following applications f) and g).
- f) 21/00614/C 1 Ballakeyll Colby. Additional use of dwelling as tourist accommodation.
- g) 21/00651/B Milngavie Croit E Caley. Removal of four chimney stacks, installation of replacement roof tiles and replacement of existing steel balcony with a Juliet balcony to southwest elevation.
