The proposed development of six residential building plots is within an area zoned for residential units.
Access to the site is achieved off Ballacollister Road, a portion of land adjacent to the road having been given to the Department of Transport by the applicant for a future road widening scheme.
Consultations have taken place with the Department of Transport regarding proposed future improvements to the junction of Ballacollister Road with Moaney Quill Close/Croit – E – Quill Road and a reduction in the speed limit along Ballacollister Road from 30 mph to 20 mph. We enclose a letter of support for the latter from Laxey Commissioners.
The proposal is sited on uncultivated ground, the access road travelling the length of the site partly against a heavily planted boundary.
The single storey buildings are located below the skyline and generally orientated along the contours of the land, therefore blending in with the landscape.
Consultations have taken place with the Planning Officer.
