The application sought permission to rebuild the existing porch at Clover Cottage, Main Road, Sulby. Structural underpinning works required at the property made demolition of the existing porch unavoidable. Once the underpinning was complete, the replacement porch was to be constructed as an exact replica of the original. Permission was granted in May 2004 subject to two conditions.

The replacement porch was judged acceptable because it would be an exact like-for-like reconstruction of the porch being demolished, driven by necessary structural works rather than any desire to enlarge or alter the building. The officer considered the porch minor and unobjectionable in planning terms.

   The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

   This approval relates to drawing no.s E16327-01 and E16327/02 date stamped the 5th April 2004.
