Dear Paul Just one more thing I thought about which could be helpful to know. My appointments are always strictly by appointment. There are no drop in appointments on the off‐chance I am free, so it’s all very organised. Please let me know if you need anything else. Best wishes Sammy Leahy Sent from my iPad On 20 Jul 2021, at 14:29, Sammy Leahy <[email protected]> wrote: Dear Paul Gordon has forwarded your emails to me asking for some more information on my planning application. I understand he has already sent you the details for point no.2 on your first email below. In regard to point no.1 about the business element, in conjunction with the points in my planning statement, I can advise as follows:
A saddle fitting appointment can last between an hour and three and a half hours, with the average being around 1.5‐2 hours, so the number of appointments per day varies, but is not huge. I would need a bit of time in between clients too, to write up notes and clear away and saddles and equipment which isn’t needed for the next person.
Some people may bring two horses with one saddle for each horse to be checked, or one horse and two saddles to check for that same horse. Both scenarios increase the time of an appointment but with only one client, but create no further traffic.
People do need to bring their horses, as it is essential that I see the horse itself, and that I also see the horse ridden by the rider. I will only see one horse and rider per appointment.
It could be that there are possibly two or three horseboxes here at any given time, if one client is about to leave, another is early, and one is in the middle of their appointment. There is ample parking and turning space within the proposal for this scenario, and appointment times would be arranged to avoid overlap as much as possible.
I would not normally expect anyone else to arrive by car for an appointment but there is also room for cars if necessary.
Staff At present I have one person helping me with my horses and my livery 4‐5 days a week, and she arrives in a car and currently parks near the house. She is usually here early morning for a few hours. I would not envisage an issue with parking if there were one or two people working for me as staff/contractors/cleaners as the parking area is not likely to be full or anywhere close to being full, the majority of the time.
Clinics Regarding the clinics, these would be held on an appointment basis over the course of a day or two, with one horse and rider at a time, rather than many horses at once. The parking requirements would be similar to my normal appointments. The clinics would involve visiting trainers and experts, and would probably be monthly, and usually at times I would normally hold appointments. I suspect this would be at weekends more often than not, but not always, depending upon availability.
I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with. Best wishes Sammy Leahy Sent from my iPad Begin forwarded message:
