Drainage Division Response
Department of Transport
Rhyenn Arraghey The Secretary, Planning Committee Department of Local Government & the Environment, Murray House, Douglas.
Dear Sir,
Re: P/A 04/137/B - Extension with conservatory to east elevation (Amendment to 03/01483B), The Retreat, Surby Road, Ballafesson
The plans for the proposed development have been inspected and the Drainage Division of the Department of Transport requests that the following comment(s) be passed to your Planning Committee: -
NO OBJECTION In principle subject to: -
There must be NO discharge of surface water (directly or indirectly) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division.
The application states that the surface water from the proposed development is to be discharged to the "existing drainage". If this "existing drainage" discharges (directly or indirectly) to the foul sewerage system then it should be noted that an alternative means of surface water disposal must be provided.
Note: There are no known existing surface water sewers within the area. The applicant is required to establish where the existing surface water from the property is disposed and discuss this matter with the Drainage Division prior to work commencing on site.
In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated in the approval notice.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Wade Assistant Engineer Development Control
