Ground's care and land Management at Balladoole House, Castletown Isle of Man To whom it may concern Dear Sir / Madam I am Kevin Pickering, Sales Manager of Turner Groundscare Ltd. We are an Agricultural Machinery Distributor for the North West England. Our core focus is ground maintenance equipment for both professional and domestic users.
I have over 20 years of industry experience, we sell and maintain a wide range of premium quality machinery from leading manufacturers such as John Deere, spanning products from domestic electric walk-behind mowers to professional golf course mowers and compact tractors.
Turner Groundscare Machinery supplies a very wide range of Groundscare products to the professional grounds maintenance industry and to the domestic market.
Having studied in some detail the land at Balladoole House, Castletown, I have consulted with the owner Mr Cheadle in some detail and looked at the agricultural requirements in order to keep the land in good order.
My findings are as follows.
There is a need for a 2 Turn Mower to cut in between the various trees aligning the borders in order to mitigate root damage. For the main Parkland there is a need for the grass to be collected. Historically a mulching deck has been used, unfortunately, due to the trees at the curtilage of the property this has allowed moss to grow in some density and created a dense thatch to the grass in turn this has caused surface water to collect and not dissipate and further moss has grown in abundance. Therefore, there is the need for a tractor with grass collection system in order to collect the grass cuttings rather than a mulching deck where the cuttings are forced into the lawn. This would enhance the lawn and the life of the current turf. It would allow the lawns to be manicured to a standard acceptable on a property of this stature.
The borders of Balladoole are surrounded by circa 3 kilometres of low-level ditches however over the years these have blocked and need to be cleared and managed regularly. This will then assist with mitigating the standing surface water and the damage the water is causing to the tree roots.
We have recommended a JCB mini digger for this task.
On further investigation there is a need for a powered sweeper in order to clean the moss off the main driveway, which is almost a kilometre in length; a sprayer is required in order to make sure that the grass stays fertilised and healthy.
Due to the substantial woodland, there is a further need to manage the care of these trees by the use of a mobile mounted Palfinger platform on a 4 x 4 wheeled drive unit, in order to trim the trees and conifers surrounding the curtilage of the property. Manx Roots have been commissioned to provide a management strategy for the trees on the estate which will be closely followed to ensure longevity and healthy trees.
Our recommendation for immediately required plant is:
The agricultural equipment we have provided to Mr Cheadle will need circa 2200 square foot of barn storage. The machinery is of the value of circa £200,000.00 and in order to keep it well maintained and in good order it should stay in a secure dry barn with workshop or such like. This needs to be located in close proximity to the areas being maintained.
Yours faithfully
Kevin Pickering Turner Groundscare - Chester
