Platinum Windows 19 Alexander Drive Douglas Isle Of Man IM2 3QD In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the application made by you on behalf of:
Mrs F Harcourt Proposal: Installation of uPVC sliding sash windows to replace existing to front elevation at: Cranford 116 Woodbourne Road Douglas IM2 3BA which was considered on 23 April 2004, for the reasons set out in the attached schedule. Reasons For Refusal
Application Ref No: 03/01681/B f. The site is within a Conservation Area; the building is attractive and retains its original wooden sliding sash windows; the installation of PVC-framed windows as propósed would reduce the attraction of the building, and wóuld not preserve or enhance the appearance of the Area.
NOTE The application is advised to consult the Department's Conservation Officer to discuss the availability of grant assistance towards the cost of refurbishing the existing windows or, if necessary, the installation of wooden-framed replacements.
NOTE This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
