Application no. 03/01790/B Site visited YES Planning report and recommendations General report The application is for the installation of uPVC replacement windows in a terraced property in Brookfield Terrace, Ramsey. The proposed replacements consist of sliding sash windows on the ground floor and round headed bottom hung casement windows at 1st and 2nd floor on the front elevation and top hung casement windows on the rear elevation. Brookfield Terrace comprises of a terrace of eleven dwellings that have had a significant amount of alterations with a number of uPVC windows having already been installed. In terms of the front elevation of the dwelling the installation of uPVC sliding sash accords with Planning Circular 1/98 and given the amount of uPVC casement windows already installed along Brookfield Terrace the installation of casement windows would be difficult to resist and I consider that they are also acceptable. With regard to the rear elevation the installation of uPVC casement windows is in accordance with Planning Circular 1/98.
