Re: P/A 03/01483/B - TWO STOREY EXTENSION WITH CONSERVATORY TO EAST ELEVATION, THE RETREAT, SURBY ROAD, BALLAFESSON, RUSHEN.
The plans for the proposed development have been inspected and the Drainage Division of the Department of Transport requests that the following comment(s) be passed to your Planning Committee:
NO OBJECTION In principle subject to:
There must be NO discharge of surface water (including that from roofs and paved areas) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division.
Note: There are no known existing surface water sewers within the area. The applicant is required to establish where the existing surface water from the property is disposed and discuss this matter with the Drainage Division prior to work commencing on site.
The application states that the surface water from the proposed development is to be discharged to the "existing drainage". If this "existing drainage" discharges (directly or indirectly) to the foul sewerage system then it should be noted that an alternative means of surface water disposal must be provided.
In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if these comments could be incorporated in the approval notice.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Wade Assistant Engineer Development Control
