In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the application made by you on behalf of:

Proposal: a): Installation of door and fanlight to replace existing on front elevation 45 Hildesley Road Douglas IM2 5AX which was considered on 19 December 2003, for the reasons set out in the attached schedule.

Reasons For Refusal
Application Ref No: 03/01386/PART
- The installation of a PVC door as proposed would be out of keeping with the original architecture, and would not preserve or enhance the appearance or character of the Conservation Area.
NOTE The applicant is advised to consult with the Department's Conservation Officer to discuss the availability of grant assistance towards the cost of refurbishment or, if necessary, like-for-like replacement.
NOTE This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
