Application No: 50949 ### Planning Report and Recommendations #### General Report Site VisitedYES/NO The application is for an extension to the rear of a detailed two-story dwelling in Silby. The extension is single story set against an existing outlet of the dwelling and will provide additional living accommodation. The proposal will not be visible from the adjacent road and in terms of design is considered acceptable. The Fire Officer initially recommended refund of the application on the grounds that the means of escape were unsafe. These concerns were put to the applicant's agent and an amended plan received. Subsequently, the Fire Officer changed their system of the proposal and was content subject to the installation of smoke detection. Whilst the extension could be perceived as creating a new residential unit, the application only seeks permission for an extension to the existing dwelling. Therefore, it is considered appropriate to condition the use of the extension so that it is an allotment to the use of the use of the existing dwelling. Signed A. H.
