Dear Sir,
PA 03/0168 - Change of use from warehouse to furniture recycling/auction sales room - Bays 1-3, Old Quarry, Douglas Head Industrial Estate, Douglas
The above mentioned application has been considered by the Network Planning Section and the following observations will be forwarded to the Planning Committee of the Department of Local Government and the Environment as the response of the Director of Highways on behalf of the DOT Highways Client Group.
Objection:-
The applicant has not provided any details of the anticipated number and type of vehicles requiring access and parking, nor has the parking area been properly marked out.
N.B.
It is known that auction rooms customarily attract high levels of vehicular traffic, not only on auction days, but before and after. The Department needs to be satisfied that the proposal would not result in parking on Douglas Head Road.
Yours faithfully,
K C ASHCROFT Network Planning Engineer
It should be noted that these observations relate only to matters affecting the highway and do not in any way prejudice any decisions which may be reached in relation to Town and Country Planning or Bye-Laws.
