In pursuance of powers granted under the above Acts and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the application made by you on behalf of:

Proposal: Change of use from warehouse to furniture recycling/auction sales room
at:
- Bays 1-3, Old Quarry
- Douglas Head Industrial Estate
- Douglas
which was considered on 19 June 2003, for the reasons set out in the attached schedule.

Reasons For Refusal
Application Ref No: 03/00168/C
- There is in the submitted application insufficient information in relation to
(a) the nature of "furniture recycling"; (b) the anticipated staff numbers; (c) the anticipated traffic generation; and (d) the layout of the parking area, having regard to the need to maintain access to, and parking space for other users; in the absence of this information, it is not possible to assess the proposed development.
NOTE The site is incompletely defined. NOTE The travel distance to the only exit is in excess of that permitted under Fire Safety legislation.
NOTE This decision is without prejudice to a new application which addresses all of the above points.
NOTE This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
