Date of comments : 5th February 2021 Relationship to the application site : next door neighbours (semi-detached houses) and the rear of the development faces our back garden.
Scope of our comments We are talking here about an existing building (retrospective application), and we are neither supporting nor objecting to the proposal as we don’t feel qualified to judge fairly in that type of situation.
Our comments The building has been erected at less than 1m from the boundary between the applicants property and ours (between 700mm and 882mm per plans attached to the application).
The building is made of concrete blocks. These blocks have been cladded with timber on 3 sides (face and both sides) but have been left untreated on the rear side (photos taken today attached), which leaves us with the alternative between looking every day at this unsightly view or erecting a 2m fence all along the boundary.
As a side comment relating to noise and disturbance, if the planning application was successful, we expect the building (which is mainly used for entertainment) to be used in compliance with the Noise Act 2006.
