Proposed Additions Statement
Proposed Additions To 'The Grange'
Motivation
The Applicant has refurbished the property for residential use and following viewings by prospective purchasers, the need for a Family Room and Children's Playroom has been identified and it is in terms of Housing Policy 11 (d) that the Applicant wishes to obtain approval for a subordinate extension to address these needs. Additionally the Applicant seeks approval of a Covered Walkway and Vehicular Entrance to create a sheltered link from the Main Dwelling to the Barn.
The dwelling has been refurbished from the derelict remains of a working property (refer to photograph's attached), with the removal of various sheds the original buildings have been converted and refurbished to a high standard.
The works have been carried out in terms of Housing Policy 11 and have re-established the character of the original. Extensive use of stone, together with the brick detail of the original dwelling, have been specified.
The major feature of the property are the two main double storey gable walled dwelling sections linked with a hipped roof single storey.
Proposal
The Planning proposal provides a stone gable walled roof over the extension to repeat the double storey dwelling behind link together with a low monopitched roof over the Children's Playroom to mimic the existing white wall. All the materials proposed match the existing to produce a harmonious effect.
