Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Progeny Ltd
51A Victoria Street
Douglas
Isle Of Man
IM1 2LD
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Proposal: st:
Miss Lisa Dancox Conversion from theatre / stage school to day nursery Former Methodist Church Main Road Onchan Isle Of Man IM3 1AL which was considered on 16th July 2009, for the reasons set out below. Date of Issue: 20th July 2009 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- Due to the lack of on-site car parking the proposal relies entirely on car parking within the surrounding area to provide staff car parking and parking for the dropping off and collection of children. Given the potential traffic generation from the proposed use it is concluded that the lack of on-site car parking will cause unacceptable harm to highway safety and general amenity within the surrounding area. As such, the proposal is contrary to the provisions of General Policy 2 (g), (h) \& (i) of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
