16 February 2015 · Delegated
Clifton Ville, Fistard, Port St. Mary, Isle Of Man, IM9 5pq
Permission was granted for a two storey extension and new patio to the rear of Cliftonville, a traditional detached cottage in Fistard, Port St Mary. The officer assessed the proposal against its potential impact on the character and appearance of the property and the wider street scene, and on the living conditions of neighbouring residents. The site already has an enclosed patio area and raised garden to the rear. The neighbouring property, Sea Breezes, is set back from the rear of the application site and its front windows do not look directly towards it. The application was approved on a delegated basis, with one condition attached to the permission.
The Department of Infrastructure approved the application on a delegated basis. The key planning considerations were the impact on the character and appearance of the property and street scene, and the effect on the living conditions of neighbouring properties. Both were found to be acceptable.
