Permission was granted for the erection of a covered walkway with associated landscaping at the House of Manannan Heritage Centre, Mill Road, Peel. The site sits on the corner of Station Place and Mill Road, to the south east of Peel Harbour, and falls within the Peel Conservation Area. The existing courtyard, which is accessed from the Kingdom of the Isles Gallery and currently used as a children's play area, was noted as offering limited usable space. The application was determined on a delegated basis and permitted subject to one condition.
The Department of Infrastructure permitted the covered walkway and associated landscaping, subject to one condition. The site sits within the Peel Conservation Area, and the proposal was assessed against relevant policies before being approved on a delegated basis.

9.16 There will be a general presumption in favour of retention of retail uses at ground floor level in the main shopping streets (Peel Street, Bourne Place, Market Hill, Market Place (West), Parliament Street (excluding Auckland Terrace), East Street, Parliament Square (East side). Office uses (including finance related establishments) at ground floor level will not be permitted to occupy more than 30% of the street frontage in any one block between public and vehicular highways in these streets.
