Mr & Mrs William Christian, Ellerslie Farm Marown
Dear Mr & Mrs Christian,
ELLERSLIE TIP - CROSBY
It was good to see you again yesterday and please thank your mother, yet again, for the £100 you and she provide every year for the children’s prizes on Parish Day.
As discussed, I have pleasure in confirming that the site, known locally as the Ellerslie Tip, was used by The Department of Infrastructure, known previously as the DHPP and the DOT, for many years for storage and tipping.
In about 1991, in an effort to formalise the situation a lease on the site, after much discussion, was agreed between my Chief Executive, Mr Roy Cooil, and myself, as the Minister, and you and your wife, as owners of Ellerslie Farm.
Isn’t it amazing how time flies, particularly when you’re retired!! Although my memory isn’t as good as it was, if I can be of any further help please let me know. Yours sincerely,
David North
6.0 Historical Aerial Photographs
The following are aerial photographs taken on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure.
Each photograph is dated and referenced. I have interpreted the photographs from 1993 to 2012 indicating the use over time to show the use of the land over this period of time.
The photographs show the consistency of the site's use over this period and the location and dates, as not all the land has been used for vehicle and equipment storage.
An area of the site to the bottom or end of the site, continues to be used in accordance with the original planning approval for tipping or as a currently termed a waste transfer station.
This land is located to the end of the site and is marked on the plan provided 1020/PL01 revision B.
