This application sought permission to erect a replacement dwelling at Sarah's Cottage, Cornaa, Ramsey, Isle of Man. The site sits east of the Cornaa in the parish of Lezayre, and a partially built dwelling was already present at the time of the application. The application was refused in March 2011. The proposed replacement dwelling would have been 346% larger in floor area than the original building. This scale was found to be contrary to housing policy and was also judged to cause significant harm to the character and quality of the landscape in an area recognised for its high landscape value and scenic significance.
