A site location plan showing the layout of commercial units, with Unit 8 highlighted in orange as the application site, situated next to a B&Q store.
10 parking spaces are provided on site
The end user estimates the following number of parking spaces will be required:
Monday – Friday: Weekends: 6-8 cars per hour
These figures show a shortfall of spaces during peak times. The peak times for a fitness club are out of hours times for surrounding businesses.
The applicant, Isle of Man Development Co. Ltd, owns and controls all other units in Spring Valley Trading Estate.
The applicant is mindful that the Local Authorities would not welcome parking on the public highway.
The applicant is content for the end user to use their private road for overflow (linear) parking. This road runs from the back of Unit 3 to the rear of B&Q as highlighted in green on the plan below. This area would accommodate up to 30 additional cars parked in a linear arrangement if required. The applicant would encourage the end user and their members to use this area and not the public highway for parking.
