Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Partington Nixon & Kinrade
7-9 Drinkwater Street
Douglas
IM1 1AT
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Infrastructure does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Captain Jim James Proposal: Alterations and extensions to dwelling and erection of a detached garage at: Ecklands, Corlea Road, Ballasalla, Isle Of Man, IM9 3BA which was considered on 28th July 2010, for the reasons set out below. Date of Issue: 3rd August 2010 Murray House Mount Havelock
Douglas
Mrs C Dudley
Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- This proposal is contrary to Housing Policy 16 in the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007, in that the extensions would enlarge a non-traditional dwelling in the countryside and increase the impact of the building as viewed by the public.
- This proposal is contrary to Environment Policy 1 in the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007, in that the proposed garage would create a new detached structure which would not preserve the rural character of the open countryside.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
