Permission was granted for the erection of a maintenance shed on land adjacent to Nobles Hospital, Ballafletcher, Braddan. The site is zoned as government-owned open space in agricultural use and is currently used for sports development, containing rugby pitches, football pitches, and a cricket wicket. The proposed shed was to be sited to the rear of the existing pavilion, screened from public view by the pavilion to the east and existing boundary treatment to the west. The officer considered the recreational use of the site acceptable and found the building's visual impact on the surrounding area to be satisfactory. The application was decided under delegated authority and approved with two conditions.
The application was approved on 8 June 2010 by a delegated Senior Planning Officer. The recreational use of the site was considered acceptable, and the proposed shed's visual impact was judged to be limited, as it would be screened by the existing pavilion and boundary treatment.
