Callow, Secretary to the Planning Committee, Department of Infrastructure, Murray House, Mount Havelock, DOUGLAS IM1 2SF Dear Jo, 10/0448 Creation of farm track, Gibdale Farmhouse, Bayrauyr Road, St. Marks, Malew Like so many applications, there is no 'Case' put forward for this development. Why do they need a new track? There is a perfectly adequate one already; we have driven up it ourselves, several times in past years. "Gibdale Farmhouse" is becoming confusing; there are 2 on the map now, a westerly one which used to be a bricked-up windowed, granite barn with a mono-pitched roof but which has now, against advise, been allowed to become a fully established dwelling and, exactly as forecast, is growing a conglomeration of excrescencies around it, including, it is reported, a new driveway of its own connecting to the Ballamodha Straight.
This present application relates to the easterly one, where a succession of Applications (\& Approvals) has again led to the formation of more than one dwelling.
We don't consider that every dwelling which creeps into our countryside need have its own separate drive. We shared one for many years and it can be made acceptable as long as users behave reasonably and don't fall out!
Planning is dedicated to keeping the countryside undeveloped and therefore we object to this proposal (unless there is a very strong reason and here we have none.)
Yours sincerely, IAN \& ELIZABETH
