This application sought permission to change the use of a number of fields along Ballavale Road in Santon from farmland to woodland in selected areas. The site comprises multiple parcels of open land, with some self-seeded trees present in the lower fields near Ballachrink Farm buildings, but little to no tree cover on the higher ground. The Department of Infrastructure approved the application on a delegated basis in November 2014. The officer's report identified benefit to wildlife as a key issue in support of the proposal. Permission was granted subject to one condition.
