The site sits in the heart of Ramsey town centre, just to the south west of the war memorial, and falls within the Ramsey Conservation Area. The surrounding area is predominantly commercial in character. The application was decided on a delegated basis by the Department of Infrastructure. The officer recommended approval and permission was formally granted on 16 October 2014, subject to two conditions.
The Department of Infrastructure approved the change of use on a delegated basis. The officer recommended approval and the formal decision confirmed permission was granted.
