18 June 2014 · Delegated
20, Stanley Mount, Peel, Isle Of Man, IM5 1ne
The application sought permission to demolish a garage and workshop with accommodation above on a parcel of land between Stanley Mount and Circular Road in Peel, and to erect a new dwelling in its place. The site sits beside a relatively new three-storey building at 18 Stanley Mount, with further residential properties to the north and rear. The officer considered three main planning issues: whether the existing building deserved protection from demolition, the impact of the new dwelling on neighbouring properties, and whether access and parking arrangements were acceptable. The Department of Infrastructure approved the application on 18 June 2014 under delegated powers, subject to two conditions.
The Department of Infrastructure approved the application. The officer assessed whether the existing building warranted protection, the effect on neighbouring residents, and the suitability of access and parking, and recommended approval. The final decision matched that recommendation.
