Department Of Infrastructure Planning and Building Control ### Memorandum To: Miss Jennifer Chance, Head of Development Management From: Miss Melissa Mcknight, Assistant Planning Officer Date: 27th January 2015 Re: 14/00559/B: Alterations and erection of extensions to dwelling, Meadowfield House, Croit E Caley, Colby, Isle Of Man. ### Satisfaction Of Condition This application was granted planning approval on 24th July 2014. The approval was subject to four conditions; Condition 2 was subject to written agreement by Planning & Building Control prior to development being allowed to take place. Condition 2 reads: No development shall commence until a schedule of materials and finishes to be used in the construction of the external surfaces, including the roof and windows have been submitted to and approved in writing by the Planning Authority. Samples of the stone work to be used the elevations shall be submitted to and be approved in writing prior to commencement. The development shall not be carried out unless in accordance with the approved details.Reason: In the interests of the character and appearance of the site and surrounding area. A schedule of materials has been submitted to Planning and Building Control and is outlined below: - The roof slates on the existing garage are to be removed and reused for the roof of the proposed extension and any breakages will be replaced with matching slate tiles; - Coping and Corbel stones are to be reused; - All windows and cills would match that of the main dwellinghouse, Meadowfield House, and garage; and - The stone work that the extension would be finished in would match the existing garage. Samples of the stone to be used in the construction and finish of the extension were also submitted along with photographs showing the existing stone work of the garage. Taking into account that the existing stone work has been subject to weathering, the new proposed stone would not be an initial identical match but would match as closely as possible and practicable to begin with. It is judged that the schedule of materials to be used in the construction and finish of the proposed extension would complement the existing character and appearance of the main dwellinghouse and garage and as such it is considered that the schedule of materials and samples submitted satisfies Condition 2.
