Nirvana, Ramsey Road, Laxey, Isle Of Man, IM4 7py
This application sought permission to construct raised decking to the rear elevation of a dwelling called Nirvana on Ramsey Road, Laxey. The property is a modern single-storey detached bungalow on the southern side of Ramsey Road, with views over Glen Road running through the centre of Laxey Village. The main planning considerations were the potential effects on neighbouring amenities, including overlooking, loss of light, and overbearing impact, as well as the visual impact on the character of the street scene. Both issues were assessed and the proposal was found to be acceptable. The application was approved by the Department of Infrastructure under delegated powers on 9 May 2014, with one condition attached.
The Department of Infrastructure approved the application under delegated powers. The officer recommended approval, and the decision aligned with that recommendation.
