Planning Request Memorial Hall Request from Toddlers United Additional Detail
The following are some additional points in relation to the request for an additional use to be granted for the Memorial Hall in Union Mills
The site is currently approved for community use, and we are seeking additional approval for use as a childcare facility
Braddan Commissioners, the owners of the building, are in agreement to the request being made by Toddlers United
The hall will be used for childcare in the form of an after-school club. This is to replace the venue that has been used for the last ten years and will not be available to us from April
There are between 12 and 20 children who will use the facility per day, only in term time
Children will be taken to the venue by minibus owned by the Nursery and dropped off at the door of the nursey next door to the site then taken by nursery staff into the Memorial Hall. The nursery next door will also be operated by Toddlers United. Nursery staff will be in both buildings and staffing levels will be as required by Registrations and Inspections Dept who regulate child care.
Children are picked up by parents / carers at various times between 4pm and 5.45pm each day depending on the needs of the parent / carer.
Parking for pick ups is available at the nursery beside the Memorial Hall, in the car park beside the Spar (which is also owned by Braddan Commissioners) and in Strang Road. There are no yellow lines on the main road outside the building.
The building will need to be signed off and approved as suitable by registration and inspections prior to use.
