Permission was granted for the additional use of a dwelling at Ballakissack Beg, Ballakissack Farm, Little Mill Road, Onchan as tourist accommodation. The application was decided by delegated authority on 25 October 2012. The officer's assessment focused on two main issues: whether the tourist use would harm the amenity of nearby properties, and whether it was an appropriate use for the building. The building's position within a cluster of farm buildings and its distance from adjacent properties were noted as factors supporting approval. Permission was granted subject to two conditions.
The Department of Infrastructure approved the application on 25 October 2012. The officer considered that tourist accommodation was a more appropriate use for this particular building, and that its position within a group of farm buildings, set away from neighbouring properties, meant the use would not undermine the amenity of adjacent residents.
