This application sought to amend an existing planning approval (PA 23/00551/B) by increasing the width of the garage doors from 3 metres to 4 metres. The change was assessed against the Isle of Man's statutory criteria for minor changes. Officers found that the amendment did not significantly increase the size or scale of the development, did not change its nature, and did not cause any new or increased adverse impacts on neighbouring properties or the environment. The widening of the garage door was judged to be genuinely minor and not of a magnitude requiring a fresh full application. The basis on which the original approval was granted remained unchanged, and the development continued to comply with the relevant development plan and policy framework.
The application passed all the required statutory tests for a minor change: the garage door widening from 3m to 4m is a small alteration that does not increase the scale of development, does not harm neighbouring properties, and does not undermine the policy compliance of the original approval.
