APL Operating Statement

Operating Statement Location: Fields 534019 & 531866, Blackberry Lane, Onchan

Due to increased demand for tourist accommodation during the Island’s motorcycle festivals, we seek approval for the use of two fields, at the above location, to serve as a temporary campsite during the festival periods.

The campsite would begin operation seven days prior to the first practice race of the festival and commence seven days after the last race day of the festival. This is to allow for site preparation of the site before the first customers arrive. It is anticipated that the first customers will arrive within three of days before the first practice race and the last customers will leave within three days of the last race. Therefore, the application seeks to be for the site to be in full operation during these periods.

It is estimated that the site is equipped to support a maximum capacity of 225 people based on site facilities and an average of 3no. persons per the 75no. pitches shown in drawing ‘APL_01_02

– Site Camp Plan’. The customers will supply and set up their own tents in the areas allocated on the drawing in accordance with document ‘Fire Safety Guidance Notice Note 7’. For more information, please refer to drawings ‘APL_01_01 – Site Location Plan’ and ‘APL_01_02 – Site Camp Plan’.
