The parent planning permission (24/00569/B), approved by the Planning Committee on 28 October 2024, granted consent for demolition of the former Empire Garage Showroom and erection of seven dwellings with associated road, parking, drainage, and public realm works. Two of the seven conditions required the applicant to submit details of external materials and finishes before work could proceed. This application provided those details, including detailed elevation drawings showing the treatment of frontages onto both Gib Lane and Stanley Road. The specified materials include sandstone facing stone with natural colour mortar and 5mm movement joints. The submitted information was assessed against the requirements of the conditions and found to be acceptable.
The materials and finishes submitted — principally sandstone facing stone with natural colour mortar — were assessed as meeting the requirements of conditions 6 and 7 of the parent permission. The detailed elevation drawings for both street frontages provided sufficient information to satisfy the conditions, allowing them to be discharged.
