29 February 2024 · Delegated
Jade Garden Chinese Take Away, 50, Broadway, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM2 4ew
Permission was granted for external works at 50 Broadway, Douglas, Isle of Man. The proposal involved replacing an existing plywood facade with treated wood cladding, installing stone cladding below the windows, and replacing the external doors. The property is a two-storey building on a prominent corner plot where four roads meet, and the officer's report noted it had a rundown exterior appearance. The works were assessed against their effect on the character and appearance of the area and any potential highway impact. The application was approved on 29 February 2024 under delegated authority, with three conditions attached to the permission.
The application was approved by the Head of Development Management under delegated authority. The key planning considerations were the effect on the character and appearance of the area and any impact on the highway, both of which were found to be acceptable.
